POUR

Also called perceivable operable understandable robust, the four principles

This entry has not been translated yet and is shown in English.

The four principles WCAG's success criteria are organised beneath: perceivable, operable, understandable, robust. A filing system rather than a test — nothing is measured at principle level — but a decent triage for asking why something failed before arguing about which criterion it failed under.

A two-column comparison. Left, the four POUR principles — perceivable, operable, understandable, robust — none of which is measurable in itself. Right, the success criteria filed beneath them, each testable and graded A, AA, or AAA. Only the right-hand column is what an audit checks.
