Infill

The sparse internal lattice printed inside a hollow shell, set as a percentage. Beyond roughly 40% it buys almost no strength — stiffness comes overwhelmingly from the perimeters, which sit furthest from the neutral axis. Raising infill is the most common wrong answer to a part that broke.

In practice

"Print it at 100%" is the reflex and it is nearly always wasted time. Add shells instead: two more perimeters beat forty more points of infill.
