About
Thirty years turning ambiguous problems into working software.
I'm Peter Freedman, an AI product developer and software architect based in Eagle, Colorado. My career runs from design and typography, through enterprise web and full-stack engineering, to the AI, data, and autonomous systems I build today.
I started in design. An MFA in graphic design from the Rhode Island School of Design gave me a foundation in typography, visual systems, and the discipline of making information legible — the craft of understanding a material well enough to shape it, whether that material is ink on paper or code on a screen. A BA in biology from Colorado College came first, and the habit of systems thinking it built has never left.
For three decades I have built for the web across its whole evolution: designing interfaces, engineering full-stack applications, and architecting enterprise WordPress for organizations whose content needs had outgrown the defaults — multisite estates, custom plugins and blocks, headless front ends, and the migrations and governance that keep them maintainable.
That foundation now powers my work in AI. I design and build multi-agent systems and production LLM platforms where the priority is software people can understand and trust: cited sources instead of confident guesses, accessible interfaces, and honest handling of the model's limits. The same typographic discipline that produced my low-vision legibility research — now the Universal Web — shapes how I approach every interface.
I also work at the edges of software and the physical world: a drone-borne magnetometer survey platform combining flight-control hardware, sensor integration, GIS, and data interpretation. It is the clearest expression of how I like to work — across disciplines, from concept to field test.
I'm currently focused on AI product development, software architecture, and the kind of cross-disciplinary problems that need design judgment and engineering depth in the same person. I work with organizations as a senior contributor, contractor, and consultant.
